uL2

One of the largest ribosomal proteins, uL2 is located largely at the interface between the ribosomal subunit. The long non-globular extension of this protein deeply penetrates the 23S/28S rRNA of the ribosome.

In eukaryotes, the surface of the protein is buried under expansion segment ES31.
