us14

uS14 is located in the head of the small ribosomal subunit.

The structure of this protein is astonishingly divergent across species. When bacterial and eukaryotic uS14 are compared, they share only ~15-amino acid-long miniature globule, whereas other protein segments have dissimilar fold in bacteria and eukaryotes.
